Another Girl's Life: Makeup On Trial: YSL Le Teint Touche Eclat Foundation...

Based on the same principles as the Touche Eclat this foundation aims to illuminate your skin, highlighting your good bits and contouring your bad! I'm just going to put out a little disclaimer, I don't actually like Touche Eclat but I was genuinely excited for this product as it's a foundation...and I love those!

Well it's free from opaque powders which tend to leave that 'mask-like' and cakey effect as well as containing a 'soft focus gel'. This fuses to your skin creating a kind of 'second skin' with the foundation rather than just sitting on top of it and looking like you have makeup on.

Another great thing about this foundation is the shade range, represented by the stunning promo shots of Jourdan Dunn and Ginta Lapina. The breadth of shades is really impressive and theoretically, there should be something for everyone. The shade range is split in BR for rose/pink undertones, B for neutral undertones and BD for golden/yellow undertones, and depth/number wise they range from about 20-50.

So I have two shades which were matched to me on account of my current Estee Lauder shade. As you can see they all differ greatly and on first sight, I initially didn't think either would suit me, especially not BD30 as it has a slightly grey tinge and looked very gold, call me old fashioned, but the disco ball look really isn't for me! I wasn't particularly keen on the BD20 as it looked a lot pinker and unlike any other of my foundations. So I went with BD30 and surprisingly enough, it's a really good match.

On first application yes it does. It's really light to apply with a slight scent, which may not appeal to some but I find really pleasant. Initially due to its 'illuminating' stance, for an oily girl like me, this is always a big no go. But surprisingly enough, I really loved the finish, illuminating but not shimmery, like the Rimmel Wake me up foundation, it was just a lovely light sheen and delivered the promise of it's 'second skin' like nature. After a few hours though, it did start to wear off, it definitely doesn't have the staying power of Doublewear but then again, it doesn't promise this. I find the finish and wear very similar to Nars Sheer Glow but slightly more 'illuminating', it would be great for a night out in the summer time when you want your skin to look flawless and really glow. One other thing I must mention is the packaging. I absolutely adore it! Really, really luxurious and looks gorgeous on the dressing table! It's a really robust bottle with the beautiful YSL logo adorning the lid, I also love the pump. At first I thought it pumped out too much but actually, for me, it's the perfect amount for my face and neck. It really does put other more expensive brands packaging to shame...ahem *Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua with your plastic bottle and squeezy top* ahem!

So, in conclusion, I think this is a great summer foundation for all skin types, especially normal to dry. If you're oily like me, you will have to powder it down and continue to powder it throughout the day. I use my beloved bareMinerals and it doesn't build up or cause the dreaded cake face! For days when I don't need it to last and am just shopping or meeting friends for dinner, this is a great option.
